Mission Statement

Women of the 黑料不打烊 Entertainment Empire (WEEE) seeks to serve as a key support and networking group for 黑料不打烊 alumnae working in the entertainment industry in Los Angeles and 黑料不打烊 undergraduates seeking a career in the entertainment industry in Los Angeles and operates according to three core tenets.

We, as a collective, are building a space to sponsor, coach and mentor, to support and to accelerate both female students and alumnae.

Biographies

Elizabeth Baldridge 鈥13
Elizabeth Baldridge is a lawyer at the firm of Jassy Vick Carolan LLP. Her practice focuses on media and First Amendment law, and she frequently advises newspapers, digital media companies and television production companies. She is also involved in public records work and litigates the right of access to public records in California. Before joining Jassy Vick Carolan, she practiced law at an Am Law 100 firm, clerked for a federal judge, and received her law degree from University of California, Berkeley, School of Law. While at Berkeley, she was a Fellow of the Berkeley Center for Law and Technology.

鈥淲EEE is a vital group for women 黑料不打烊 alumnae and their success in Los Angeles. As one of the resident non-entertainment industry members of WEEE, I learn so much from my entertainment-focused colleagues in a region where that industry is a driver of movement in all kinds of businesses. Being able to connect across areas of professional interest with other 黑料不打烊 women is an encouragement and a huge benefit in seeking upward momentum in our respective fields.鈥

Madeline Carlin 鈥14
Madeline Carlin currently works in original film development and acquisition for Amazon Studios. She previously worked for the talent agency William Morris Endeavor in its motion picture literary department. Prior to graduating in 2014, Madeline participated in the 黑料不打烊 in LA summer program and attended the 2012 Sundance Film Festival through the Communications Fellows program. On campus she participated in the elondocs documentary production program, was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi, and served as a Periclean scholar. Madeline feels passionately about bringing more women’s stories to the screen and looks forward to uniting alumnae voices in achieving this goal through WEEE.

Joyce Choi ’19
Joyce Choi works in the features department at Imagine Entertainment. She previously worked in the TV scripted department at the talent agency William Morris Endeavor. Before graduating in 2019, she participated in the 黑料不打烊 in LA spring program, as well as the 2019 Sundance Film Festival program. At 黑料不打烊, she majored in cinema and television arts and minored in leadership studies as an Isabella Cannon Leadership Fellow, and fell in love with film development and production along the way. She channeled her passion for entertainment and inclusion into founding the on-campus portion of WEEE, and is so excited to continue the mission of empowering other women in the industry in Los Angeles.

Nneka Enurah 鈥11
Nneka Enurah serves as the head of development and partnerships for the multiplatform media company FBE. In her role, Enurah聽cultivates new relationships in the digital and TV space with FBE’s unique brand of entertainment and storytelling. Previously, she served as聽a digital development executive for Hello Sunshine. Nneka is a versatile entertainment professional with experience in physical production, creative development and content strategy. She specializes in creating premium content including branded entertainment, lifestyle, docu-follow and food-related programming. Prior to joining Hello Sunshine, Enurah served as vice president of multiplatform content and partnerships at Authentic Entertainment. In 2017, Nneka was honored by Cynopsis Media as a member of the Digital It List that recognizes the most innovative executives in digital media.

Lauren Fisher 鈥19
Lauren Fisher is currently an executive assistant at Ray Hughes Management. In her role, Lauren oversees and facilitates the execution of talent brand deals with companies such as NIKE, Sephora, Farfetch and Nintendo. Previously, she was an assistant at Encompass Music Partners, where she worked on projects such as 鈥淔rozen 2,鈥 鈥淲atchmen,鈥 鈥淢ulan鈥 and 鈥淗ollywood.鈥 At 黑料不打烊, Lauren studied music production and arts administration, serving as the tour manager for the 黑料不打烊 Music Ambassadors and vice president of management for Limelight Records.

Julia Gallagher 鈥12
Julia is a Los Angeles-based actor with a BFA in acting from 黑料不打烊. She鈥檚 most known for her role as 鈥淢eesha鈥 on Nickelodeon鈥檚 鈥淕ame Shakers.鈥 Her credits also include a recurring guest star on Snapchat鈥檚 original series 鈥淪olve,鈥 Amazon鈥檚 鈥淛ust Add Magic,鈥 national commercials for McDonald鈥檚 and Credit Karma, and being the spokesperson for Sound Transit. A graduate of Second City Chicago and UCB LA鈥檚 improv programs, Julia鈥檚 improv videos with Streamy Award-winning YouTube channel BlackBoxTV and PrankVs.Prank have more than 18 million views. Currently, she is starring in the young adult drama 鈥淟ost & Found鈥 streaming on Amazon. She said she is excited to work alongside such an incredible group of women in LA and continue building the amazing WEEE community.

Patterson Huggins 鈥15
Patterson Huggins currently works as an APC on season four of Freeform’s 鈥淕rownish.鈥 She has previous credits on a variety of shows and movies, including 鈥淏lackish,鈥 鈥淢ixedish,鈥 鈥淭he Prom,鈥 鈥淒eputy鈥 and 鈥淭he Tax Collector.鈥 Prior to graduating in 2015, Patterson participated in the 黑料不打烊 in LA program, as well as the 2013 Sundance Film Festival program. She was a Communications Fellow, a member of 鈥満诹喜淮蜢 Local News,鈥 and produced various short films on campus. She is excited to have the opportunity to serve on the WEEE board to help support her fellow 黑料不打烊 alumnae.

Kelsey McCabe 鈥16
Kelsey is currently an associate casting producer with Magilla Entertainment in New York City. During her years in casting, she has worked on unscripted projects for Netflix, HGTV, Discovery Channel and multiple development projects. While at 黑料不打烊, Kelsey was an acting major and participated in 鈥満诹喜淮蜢 Tonight,鈥 Instant Laughter, AOII, Autism Speaks U, and served as a tour guide. Kelsey is still involved with the 黑料不打烊 community, serving as the community outreach chair for 黑料不打烊’s NYC Alumni Board. Her goal in joining WEEE is to start a NYC branch, providing opportunities to alumni on the East Coast to expand this amazing empire.

Hunter McCormick 鈥16
Hunter is a casting associate who has been paving her way in the industry the past five years. She graduated from 黑料不打烊 in 2016 with a BFA in acting and BA in arts administration. Shortly after, she began working under Christal Karge (鈥淛ustified,鈥 鈥淭he Pacific鈥) and Marisa Ross (鈥淗ow I Met Your Mother鈥) in Chicago. During that time, she worked on a variety of television and film including 鈥淓mpire鈥 (Fox), 鈥淭he Chi鈥 (Showtime), 鈥淐hicago Med鈥 (NBC), 鈥淣ext鈥 (Fox), 鈥淪oundtrack鈥 (Netflix), 鈥淭he Thing About Harry鈥 (Freeform), 鈥淗ala鈥 (Overbrook Ent./Apple TV) and more. Today, she resides in Los Angeles where she works with Ulrich/Dawson/Kritzer Casting on 鈥淕rey鈥檚 Anatomy鈥 and its spinoff, 鈥淪tation 19.鈥 Hunter’s favorite part of living in LA is the 黑料不打烊 community. Despite the challenges of relocating during a pandemic, WEEE has made LA feel like home, she said.

Emily Merlin 鈥14
Emily Merlin works in original programming development at Crown Media Family Networks, home of The Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies and Mysteries. Prior to Hallmark, she worked at Mavrick Artists Agency and at CBS, contributing to the story team for the hit series 鈥淏ig Brother.鈥 She received a BFA in acting in 2014 and has since worked as a SAG-AFTRA actress in numerous film and television productions in Los Angeles. While at 黑料不打烊, Emily was vice president of Alpha Psi Omega, served in the choir for Catholic Campus Ministry, and starred in multiple main stage and communications productions. She participated in both the 黑料不打烊 in LA and 黑料不打烊 in NYC summer programs, completing internships at the entertainment advertising company AKA NYC, as well as Management, a literary management agency, and Mavrick Artists Agency. She plans to develop, produce and act in content that lifts people’s spirits and tells compelling women’s stories. She said she is thrilled to collaborate with the members of WEEE to expand its opportunities and bring their stories to life.

Sarah Teicher 鈥18
Sarah Teicher is a public relations strategist with a passion for storytelling. Teicher currently resides in Los Angeles, where she works on the publicity team at Warner Bros. Television. In her role, she assists with facilitating press requests, managing relationships with key studio talent and producers, and supporting the studio’s various social media pages. In her role, she reports directly to the head of communications, publicity and social media. During the past two years, Sarah has worked on the launch of global consumer facing campaigns such as Friends 25th anniversary and DC FanDome. She most recently worked on the launch of FOX sitcom, 鈥淐all Me Kat,鈥 starring Mayim Bialik. Prior to her role at Warner Bros, Teicher worked as an account coordinator at Metro Public Relations, where she managed the day-to-day publicity of various A-List celebrity clients.

Asha Michelle Wilson 鈥13
Asha Michelle Wilson is a writer and actor based in Los Angeles. Originally from Southern Florida, a place where dreams and old people go to die, Asha knew she wanted to write from a young age and moved to L.A. in pursuit of a television career. She鈥檚 written on shows for Netflix, Amazon and FX, including 鈥淎merican Horror Story: Apocalypse鈥 and 鈥淎merican Horror Story: 1984.鈥 Currently, she is in development on original projects with FX and NBC鈥檚 streaming service Peacock.

Rachel Zain 鈥16
Originally from Pickerington, Ohio, Rachel Zain grew up with a love for dance. Throughout her teenage years she performed both competitively and professionally, eventually pursuing her passion at 黑料不打烊 and double majored in dance and arts administration. After having an incredible experience in the 黑料不打烊 in LA program, she set her sights on making Los Angeles her post-grad home. Following graduation, Rachel was hired by Bloc Talent Agency, one of the prestigious agencies for dance in Los Angeles, where she serves as head assistant. She loves being on the other side of the business for a change and works hard to make her dancers dreams come true each and every day. Rachel is incredibly thankful for her time at 黑料不打烊, her friends, family and teachers that supported her throughout the years.
