For the seventh year in a row, ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ is ranked among the nation's top colleges and universities by The Princeton Review. The 2010 college guide, released July 28, ranks schools based on a survey of 122,000 students from across the nation.

The Eastern Music Festival returns to ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ on June 30 with a Steinway Piano Gala to feature works by Chopin, Brahms, Liszt, Stravinsky, and Saint-Saëns. The McCrary Theatre performance at 8 p.m. will conclude with a crowd-pleasing multiple hands finale. The concert is planned in honor of George Troxler, former Dean of Cultural and Special Programs.

The Class of 2009 collected more than $15,000 this year to fund the Senior Class Gift Campaign Study Abroad Grants, which will provide funding to students who are unable to study overseas because of personal financial situations. After switching majors from business to elementary education, Ben Smith '09 realized he would be a minority in his field. The questions he would ask led to his senior thesis, “The Difference in the Experiences of Male and Female Beginning Elementary School Teachers,” to be presented April 28 at SURF. His work is the latest in a weeklong series of E-net profiles to spotlight ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ undergraduate research during CELEBRATE! 2009.

Thirteen rising juniors at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ have been named recipients of the 2009 Lumen Prize, the university’s premier award that comes with a $15,000 scholarship to support and celebrate their academic achievements and research proposals.

Senior Brian Beaty won the best poster presentation award at the 34th Annual West Coast Biological Sciences Undergraduate Research Conference held at Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego on Saturday, April 18.
