ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ

The Princeton Review names ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ one of “The Best 371 Colleges”

For the seventh year in a row, ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ is ranked among the nation's top colleges and universities by The Princeton Review. The 2010 college guide, released July 28, ranks schools based on a survey of 122,000 students from across the nation.

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ students responded to a Princeton Review survey during the 2008-09 academic year, describing their views of the university’s academic programs and campus life. Their compiled comments included the following statements, as published in ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s Princeton Review profile:

“…you get involved outside the classroom and gain more knowledge through extensive undergraduate research, service learning, study-abroad, and internship opportunities…”

“…amazing study-abroad program through which ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ seeks to transform a student into a world citizen rather than just another American with a college degree…”

“…one of the very best performing arts schools with a liberal arts education, including a great dance department…”

“…the class sizes are small, and professors take an interest in student achievement both inside and outside of academics…”

“…if ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ does not have exactly what you want, you can start it up…”

“…the campus is absolutely gorgeous, contributing to a definite aspect of southern comfort…”

“…the majority of students at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ simply want to make a difference in one way or another. We are a very community-service based school and constantly have fundraisers and drives for a variety of causes.”

For the second year in a row, ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ received a 94 score (out of 100) on Princeton Review’s “Green Rating,” which measures environmentally friendly practices by colleges. The rating was created by ecoAmerica and The Princeton Review based on green methodologies: transportation: access to transit, bike access, car share; sustainability: locally grown food, green buildings, waste reduction, recycling; majors and concentrations with a green service/green literacy; and system/campus level targets to reduce carbon footprints.

Earlier this year, ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ was named by Princeton Review and USA Today as one of the nation’s top 100 best value colleges.
