The head of development at FBE will be recognized for leadership in and contributions to the television industry during an Oct. 13 virtual ceremony.

An alum of the year presentation, networking event and StrengthsQuest are all planned for School of Communications alumni.

Ten alumni participated in a Sept. 21 Zoom call to welcome first-year students to ���ϲ����� and the school’s accelerated training program for news reporting, documentary filmmaking and non-fiction storytelling.

The ���ϲ����� alumnus and members of the ESPN graphic design team were honored at the 41st Sports Emmy Awards ceremony and recognized in the Outstanding Post-Produced Graphic Design category.

Arlette Hawkins, a 2020 alumna of ���ϲ�����'s iMedia graduate program, discusses her internship with Cosmopolitan Magazine, the T. Howard Foundation internship program and succeeding in a remote working environment.

Weaver was recognized for his work with his company, Weird Enough Productions, which encourages young people to grasp their true potential.

The eight-week summer program was created in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and provided aspiring public relations professionals with access to top agency executives and webinars on strategic planning, data, social media strategy and crisis communications.

Nearly 50 ���ϲ����� students, alumnae and faculty joined the Sept. 15 conversation to discuss on how the ���ϲ����� community can demonstrate authentic allyship in the media industry.

As part of her 2020 Carnegie-Knight News21 Fellowship, Victoria Traxler ’20 reported on racial disparities, facility conditions and lack of data in the juvenile justice system.

The networking initiative welcomed prospective students and hosted a discussion about Beyoncé’s new movie, “Black Is King,” examining the impact of representation in the media industry.
