ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law to host conference on academic support and effective counseling at law schools – June 21-22

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ School of Law will host Bridging Troubled Waters: Counseling Fundamentals for Academic Support Professionals, June 21-22, sponsored by the Law School Admissions Council. It is the first counseling skills training course to be offered in the 17 years of annual meetings following the inaugural conference that marked the establishment of the academic support field within legal education nationally.

Throughout the 2009-2010 school year, Leadership Fellows at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law have been making a difference in the Greensboro community by participating in Groceries on Wheels. The nonprofit health and wellness organization provides food and social interaction opportunities to seniors with low incomes in Guilford County.

At commencement ceremonies for ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law's Class of 2010, North Carolina business leader Robert E. Long, Jr. was presented with the honorary degree Doctor of Humane Letters in recognition of his philanthropic and civic leadership. Class of 2010 member William Warihay received the law school's highest student honor, the David Gergen Award for Leadership and Professionalism.

At ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ School of Law's commencement exercises for the Class of 2010, 98 graduates received Juris Doctor degrees. Their contributions to ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law, to the profession, and to society were celebrated through a commencement address by United States Senator Kay Hagan. North Carolina business leader Robert E. Long, Jr. received an honorary degree for outstanding civic leadership.
