United States Representative Howard Coble spoke to a group of ���ϲ����� Law students on April 7, at an event sponsored by the ���ϲ����� Law Republicans student organization. Among other issues, Coble addressed the health care bill recently passed through Congress and signed into law by President Obama.

On March 26, ���ϲ����� School of Law hosted the African-American Male Leadership Summit of the Beta Epsilon Boule. Held annually to support the educational and professional advancement of young African-American males and to provide positive role models and mentorship opportunities, the summit included more than forty students, Boule members, and members of the legal community this year.

Following the results of the February 2010 North Carolina Bar Exam, the combined pass rate for all graduates from ���ϲ����� School of Law's charter class is 92 percent.

The ���ϲ����� School of Law Chapter of the Innocence Project® will host Greg Taylor and Christine Mumma, Esq. as its guests on Monday, April 12 at 7:00 pm in Room 207 of the law school. They will be sharing the story of Taylor’s wrongful conviction and exoneration.

���ϲ����� Law's office of Career Services invites law students for a panel presentation regarding post graduate judicial clerkships, Thursday, April 8 from noon to 1 pm in Room 204. If you are rising third-year student and plan to apply for judicial clerkships during the summer months or you are a rising second-year law student who is interested in hearing more about judicial clerkships following law school, this is an important panel to attend.

Third-year ���ϲ����� Law student Bernard Brown was a panelist at the North Carolina Central University School of Law Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Law Review symposium on March 19, representing the law firm of Womble Carlyle Sandridge and Rice PLLC, where Brown serves as a patent agent.

On Thursday, April 8, from 4 to 5 p.m., ���ϲ����� School of Law invites and other special guests from the legal community to socialize with ���ϲ����� Law students, faculty, and administration, including as a special guest Judge of the Month, The Honorable Robert H. Edmunds, Jr., Associate Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court. The event will be held in the Cemala Commons on the second floor of the law school.

On March 16, ���ϲ����� Law's Career Services Office and the Patent Law Committee of the North Carolina Bar Association's Intellectual Property Law Section co-hosted a roundtable presentation entitled, "Strategies for Dealing with a Charge of Patent Infringement."

National Public Radio's legal affairs correspondent Nina Totenberg, delivering ���ϲ����� Law's spring 2010 Bryan Leadership Lecture, said the Supreme Court had become more divided and more activist than at any time in recent memory, and that major policy objectives of the Obama administration could be dismantled in years ahead by federal courts largely populated by Republican era appointees.
