The ���ϲ����� alumna’s News21 Fellowship has moved online this summer, but that hasn’t stopped Traxler from reporting on the juvenile justice system, examining employee misconduct and racial disparity.

The communication design and international business double major was recently recognized in the Society of Professional Journalists’ Green Eyeshade Awards competition.

���ϲ����� saw 21 faculty and staff members retire this academic year.

During his final Winter Term session, the journalism and international & global studies double major traveled to northern Brazil to report on the country’s resurgence of leprosy, learning about the infectious disease, the people fighting it, and himself as a journalist.

The rising junior is working with RadicalMedia on the “PBS American Portrait” series this summer, helping further her journalism and multimedia career goals.

The four student journalists of the inaugural NC Local News Intern Corps have produced stories featured in local news publications across the state of North Carolina.

The Communications Fellow and journalism major is the highest ranked first-year student in the award’s history and the first ���ϲ����� student to be recognized since 2013.

Led by Communications Dean Rochelle Ford, the School of Communications held a June 11 screening of “Walking While Black” and a community discussion to connect law enforcement, Alamance County leaders and diverse communities through conversation.

The associate professor of communication design will oversee the Master of Arts in Interactive Media program, succeeding its founding director, Professor David Copeland.

Funded by the North Carolina Local News Lab Fund and housed in ���ϲ�����’s School of Communications, the local news initiative will support four student journalists this summer as they cover the impact of COVID-19 and other important stories across North Carolina.
