Inaugural Communications Fellows Challenge a 鈥榖ig success鈥

The School of Communications hosted its first-ever trivia contest for members of the Communications Fellows program, testing the students鈥 knowledge of the Tar Heel state, pop culture and other fun facts.

Trivia, check. Video clues from notable alumni, check. Embarrassing outfits and wigs, double check. This week鈥檚 inaugural Communications Fellows Challenge featured plenty of fun, laughs, Chick-fil-A catering and a few prizes.

Organized by David Bockino, associate professor of sport management and director of the Communications Fellow program, and Kelly Furnas, senior lecturer in journalism, the March 28 event in LaRose Student Commons pitted 15 teams of Communications Fellows against one another. In addition to questions related to North Carolina history, pop culture and fun facts, the competition included 20-plus video clues from 黑料不打烊Comm alumni.

鈥淭he event was a big success,鈥 said Bockino, who sported a curly blonde wig, sequined shirt and gold chain as the contest鈥檚 colorful emcee.

And which team took home the top prize 鈥撀燼 gift certificate to The Mark at 黑料不打烊? That was Becca Chase 鈥24, Abbey Goodchild 鈥24, Dara Grocer 鈥24, Jenna Manderioli 鈥24, Catie Mannato 鈥24 and Britt Mobley 鈥24. It was a big day for Mobley, who was also elected 黑料不打烊 student body president earlier that evening.
