The celebration will be held March 11 as part of the university’s Founders Day activities.
Plans are underway for a historic celebration of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s 125th anniversary that will engage alumni, students, parents and friends both on campus and around the world.
“’A Day for ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’ is a way for all members of the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ family to support the university during its milestone anniversary, no matter where they are on March 11,” said John H. Barnhill ’92, assistant vice president for university advancement. “By wearing their ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ gear, making a gift to the university, and spreading the word about ‘A Day for ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ,’ everyone can play a role in this special day.”

Activities on campus include a special Founders Day College Coffee featuring Presidents Danieley, Young and Lambert. Members of the university community celebrating ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s 125th birthday from near and far can wear ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ gear and share photos by using the #ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈDay hashtag or emailing them to elonday@elon.edu. The goal is to make “A Day for ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ” the greatest day of giving in the university’s history. Gifts of all sizes and designations will count toward the total given during the campaign, and will support a range of areas within the university including the Phoenix Club, academic departments and student scholarships.
“’A Day for ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’ is a time for everyone who has been touched by ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ to come together and give back to this special community,” said Durice White ’09, associate director of alumni engagement. “It’s about celebrating not just the past, but the present and future of this transformational university.”
