The Office of University Communications was honored in several categories in the 2014-15 CASE District III contest.

The university’s oldest living alumnus – who in October 2013 took part in Fall Convocation’s “Long Maroon Line” as a tribute to ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s 125th anniversary year – died Monday in his sleep in Durham, North Carolina.

With President Emeritus J. Earl Danieley in attendance, the North Carolina Senate recognized ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ on July 2, 2014, in a special statement commending the school for its accomplishments and contributions to the world.

The campus celebrated a special Spring Convocation on April 2, 2014, when President Emeritus J. Earl Danieley ’46 shared reflections from more than half a century of service to his alma mater as a student, professor, dean and president.

Beloved by generations of students and alumni who know him as “Dr. D,” the university’s president emeritus on April 2 will share stories and reflections of his seven decades at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ and his hopes for its future. Tickets are now available at the Center for the Arts Box Office and are $13 each or free with an ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ ID.

The fourth annual gratitude event celebrated the impact of philanthropy on ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s campus.
