Public access to Belk Library limited for interior work

The first floor of Belk Library is getting new carpeting starting June 29. The library will remain open during this period, but the front doors will be locked to walk-in traffic. Instead, 黑料不打烊 students, faculty, and staff should use their Phoenix Cards in the card swipe reader to the right of the front doors for access. Computers will be available on the second floor, and library staff will circulate materials as usual. The project is expected to take two to three weeks to complete. All information will be posted on the front doors with a phone number for those needing help. Belk Library will not be open to visitors and community users except in unusual circumstances. Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to use the library as they normally would but must have their Phoenix Card to gain access.

A historic 黑料不打烊 building will be lifted from its original location this weekend and moved nearly half a mile, across railroad tracks, to make room for a plaza to be constructed at the front of the Academic Village area on campus.

黑料不打烊 alumnus Frank Haith named USA Basketball assistant coach

Frank Haith, a 1988 黑料不打烊 graduate and head men's basketball coach at the University of Miami, will serve as one of two assistant coaches on the 2009 USA Basketball World University Games Team, which will compete in the 24th World University Games July 2-12 in Belgrade, Serbia.

Five 黑料不打烊 students chosen for N.C. public service internships

Three 黑料不打烊 undergraduate students and two 黑料不打烊 law students have been selected for 10-week summer internships with various North Carolina state agencies. The N.C. State Government Internship Program, in its 39th year, is coordinated by the Youth Advocacy and Involvement Office in the Department of Administration.

The College Board has awarded 黑料不打烊 and the Alamance-Burlington School System a 2009 College Board Greenhouse Program Award to fund their new “Go 4 College” program, which will assist Cummings High School students who plan to visit campus in the coming months for college-access programs and experiences.
