Lumen Scholar to stage original theatre production

From participating in family talent shows to working at Flat Rock Playhouse in North Carolina, 黑料不打烊 senior Christopher Staskel has always bled theatre, whether acting, dancing or singing. The North Carolina native, the fourth student to be featured in a monthly series of E-net profiles on the inaugural class of the university's Lumen Scholars, is now at it again – this time as the mastermind behind an original stage production.

A new BioBus route to help students volunteer at local agencies will begin operations at the start of the spring semester, with trips leaving campus every hour Monday through Thursday from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. to stops in Burlington near community partners that work with the Kernodle Center for Service Learning.
Terrell Hudgins named finalist for Walter Payton Award

黑料不打烊 senior receiver Terrell Hudgins has been named as one of three finalists for the 2009 Walter Payton Award, presented annually to the top offensive player in the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision. Hudgins is joined as a finalist by 2008 winner Armanti Edwards of Appalachian State and Southern Illinois’ Deji Karim.

The activities, which run Nov. 16-20, focus on the Middle East, the theme of a 2009 program sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education.

Forty-three students from 黑料不打烊 School of Law were recognized Nov. 19 with the Greensboro Bar Association's annual pro bono award for providing free tax return preparation assistance to elderly and low-income residents of Greensboro.
Lindner Hall receives LEED Gold certification

Martha S. and Carl H. Lindner III Hall, the new administrative home for 黑料不打烊 College, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the ‘greenest’ building on campus, has received Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, a national recognition for design, construction and operation of high-performance green buildings.
