The second annual event, hosted on Nov. 18, attracted nearly 140 attendees interested in the technological and professional potential of the expanding drone industry.

Torres Monteverde discovered her love of the healthcare industry when interning for Edelman, a global communications firm, and has since aligned her professional and academic goals to pursue healthcare in her post-graduate journey.

Accompanied by Assistant Professor of Communication Design Shannon Zenner, five ���ϲ����� students attended what is billed as the “premier conference for the design community.”

The associate professor of strategic communications wrote the opening chapter of “The Routledge Companion to Public Relations,” co-edited by professors from the University of Oregon, Quinnipiac University and the University of Colorado, Boulder.

Publication of the article is the culmination of a collaboration that began when DeBrew and Lindsey met during a group activity in new faculty orientation hosted by CATL in the fall of 2021.

Led by faculty members David Bockino and Colin Donohue, 25 first-year Fellows and two senior Fellows traveled to Atlanta Oct. 21-22 to visit several well-known companies and sports venues, including Delta Air Lines headquarters, Jackson Spalding PR agency, Mercedes-Benz Stadium and State Farm Arena.

The associate professor of sport management and ���ϲ����� alumna co-wrote “Jumping Through Hoops: Differences in Marketing Men’s and Women’s Basketball on Twitter,” an article recently published in the Journal of Contemporary Athletics.

In conjunction with the Student Professional Development Center, the School of Communications hosted the COMM/SPT Meet & Greet on Sept. 20, attracting a dozen organizations – both in-person and virtually – representing a variety of communications and sports-related industries.

The Communications Fellows program prevails following two COVID-impacted years to lead trips to Atlanta, Orlando and Tampa, Miami and Washington, D.C.
