The School of Education has been selected to participate in the N.C. Early Learning and Literacy Impact Coalition through Deans for Impact.

The first ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ English Language Teaching Symposium was held Saturday, Feb. 16, bringing together more than 100 local educators for presentations, active learning sessions and two keynote presentations by national leaders in English language education. The ELT Symposium focused on the theme of "Bridging Divides | Creating Community."  

Jeffrey Carpenter, associate professor of education and director of the Teaching Fellows program, published the article in the peer-reviewed journal Teaching and Teacher Education. 

Jeff Carpenter, associate professor of education and director of the Teaching Fellows program, was one of eight ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ faculty members featured this year in "Passionately Curious," the annual ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ President's Report. 

Beginning at 5 p.m., faculty and staff will recognize graduating seniors in the Teacher Education program in Lakeside 212. 

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ has released its President's List and Dean's List academic recognitions for the 2018 fall semester.

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ 's Kernodle Center for Service Learning and Community Engagement is a proud partner in America Reads, a national initiative established in 1996 by President Bill Clinton designed to ensure that every child can read independently by the end of third grade. 

Four students in the School of Education's teacher education program have been awarded $5,000 scholarships from the foundation.

A partnership between ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s It Takes a Village Project and the Harvest Table Culinary Group has included an innovative approach that incorporates cooking into helping students understand mathematical concepts.

The dean of the School of Education joined three deans from public North Carolina universities on Dec. 4, 2018, to discuss teacher recruitment, preparation and induction in North Carolina as part of an invited panel for the Governor's education commission meeting.
