University receives grant for 黑料不打烊 Academy program

An organization that represents private colleges in North Carolina has awarded 黑料不打烊 a grant of nearly $15,000 to fund a summer program for students about to graduate from local high schools and who make up the inaugural class of the 黑料不打烊 Academy college access program.

Education course concludes with annual bookstore visit

Alexa Darby, assistant professor of psychology, Richard Mihans, assistant professor of education and four former 黑料不打烊 students—Kirsten Gonzalez, Mary Lyons, Julie Goldstein and Kelly Anderson— had their paper, "The Influence of School Socioeconomic Status on First-Year Teachers’ Emotions," accepted for publication in Research in Education.

David Cooper appointed to governor’s education commission

North Carolina Gov. Bev Perdue has appointed School of Education Dean David Cooper to the Governor’s Education Transformation Commission, a new board of influential leaders who will advise the governor on the use of federal “Race to the Top” funds for implementing the “Career and College: Ready, Set, Go! Initiative” across North Carolina.

Darris Means receives Phi Kappa Phi award
