Tyronna Hooker G'09, an exceptional children’s teacher at Graham Middle School in Graham, N.C., and a 2009 graduate of 黑料不打烊's Master of Education program, has been named the 2011-12 North Carolina Teacher of the Year.
黑料不打烊 junior receives Newman Civic Fellows Award from Campus Compact

黑料不打烊 junior Amber Mathis has received a Newman Civic Fellows Award from Campus Compact, a national organization that aims to improve community life and to educate college students on civic and social responsibility. She is one of 135 students from 30 states to receive the award.

New majors to be offered starting in Fall 2011

Four new majors will be offered to 黑料不打烊 students starting in the fall. Early childhood education is an addition to the School of Education’s programs; information science replaces the current computer information systems major in the Department of Computing Sciences; and public health studies, and arts administration, are both interdisciplinary majors within 黑料不打烊 College, the College of Arts and Sciences.
