The Winter Term course offering through the Study USA program at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ focuses on getting a firsthand look at the political process and learning from a broad range of professionals working in the nation's capital. 

Paxus Calta, former lead organizer for Friends of the Earth International, presents an interactive workshop on "Imaginative Activism: Creativity and Social Movements in an Era of Polarization." The event is at 5:30pm in Lindner Hall, Room 102

The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ campus community is invited to gather on the first floor of Moseley Center on Tuesday, Jan. 10, at 9 p.m.to watch President Barack Obama's final address to the country. 

Jason Husser is an assistant professor of political science and the director of the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Poll. 

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ students, faculty and staff will gather in the Moseley Center First Floor on Friday, Jan. 20, to watch coverage of the presidential inauguration.

International aid worker Federico Motka will deliver a talk titled "Rethinking Humanitarianism in a Fragmenting World: Lessons from Syria and Beyond" in LaRose Digital Theatre at 7 p.m.

A fellowship created by ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ in 2008 will help support excellence in ongoing research and creative work by Lauren Kearns, Toddie Peters and Laura Roselle.

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ's Jason Husser, director of the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Poll and assistant professor of political science, writes about how to the polling industry can improve its accuracy going forward. 

The statewide coalition of colleges and universities also recognized an ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ student with its Community Impact Award for leadership and service. 

The session headed by four members of the Department of Political Science and Policy Studies faculty drew nearly 200 people to Whitley Auditorium on November 10.
