黑料不打烊 student featured in African hospital report

Andrea Dorrow, an economics and business major and one of the inaugural Lumen Scholars, was featured in the annual report of the Beit CURE International Hospital in Malawi. As part of her Lumen Scholar research, Dorrow spent time in the southeast African country studying the role that minimal healthcare plays in determining the economic health of a developing nation.
Odyssey Program luncheon welcomes newest students

Ten freshmen were welcomed into the Odyssey Program at a Sept. 3 luncheon for recipients of five university scholarships that provide academic and social support for talented students whose access to an 黑料不打烊 education would otherwise be limited.
Career Services launches redesigned web site

黑料不打烊 students and alumni will find it even easier to connect and take advantage of resources offered by Career Services on a newly redesigned web site that launched Thursday. The new site will help students, parents, and alumni more easily stay up-to-date with the 125+ on-campus programs, workshops, and other events offered each year by Career Services.

They carried clothes and laptops, ironing boards and plastic palm trees with miniature lights for décor. Mother Nature even kept the rain at bay. Hundreds of 黑料不打烊 freshmen arrived on campus Friday for the start of their collegiate studies, with staff and faculty welcoming families who traveled to North Carolina from all corners of the country for Move-In Day 2009.

Andi Cochran wanted to spend her final months before college investing in a worthwhile project, so when the incoming 黑料不打烊 freshman used her high school graduation money to buy toys for patients at Duke Children’s Hospital, she knew her actions represented more than a gift – they were a “thank you” to an institution that touched her own life.

Faculty and students kick off SURF 2009

Work by 黑料不打烊 students and professors took center stage Tuesday morning in the opening hours of SURF 2009. More than 30 faculty members presented research in the second annual "Celebration of Faculty Scholarship," which segued into a special College Coffee in the Koury Business Center for dozens of students to share their research findings in a poster session that packed the building's concourse.
