Heather Couture ’10 realized halfway through her studies at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ that a public relations career simply didn’t fit her interests. The fashion industry, however, was a different story, and a senior year visit to Career Services led to her involvement with the Macy's Buying/Planning Executive Development Program in New York City.

Parents, students, community leaders and ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ administrators gathered Tuesday for a half-day conversation on the future of Jewish culture on campus as the number of Jewish students continues to grow and as the university embarks on a commitment to global engagement and diversity in its newest strategic plan.

A special Residential Campus Committee has spent the past year drafting a plan that will transform ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ's living-learning environment. Through a new website, the committee is inviting a campus conversation about the details of this initiative, a major goal of the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Commitment strategic plan.

Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine has ranked ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ among the nation’s top 50 best values in private higher education and the #9 university in lowest total costs, a distinction published in the magazine’s December edition. The 2010-11 ranking is the fifth consecutive top-50 placement of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ by Kiplinger’s.

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ has launched the public phase of the largest fundraising campaign in the school’s history. The Board of Trustees voted Oct. 10 to set a goal of raising $100 million by 2011 through Ever ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ: The Campaign for the Future of Our University.

More than 250 people gathered in McKinnon Hall Monday night for the university’s annual scholarship dinner. Donors of need- and talent-based academic scholarships met with their student scholarship recipients and heard an update on the Ever ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Campaign and presentations from two Lumen Scholars.

Phi Eta Sigma, a national honor society for first-year students, welcomed its newest members from ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ on Oct. 25, 2010, in a McKinnon Hall ceremony to celebrate their academic achievement.
