Earl Honeycutt, professor of Marketing and director of the Chandler Family Professional Sales Center, received the Best Paper of the Year for 2010 from Marketing Education Review for the article "The Three Dichotomies of Marketing." Honeycutt received the award at a luncheon during the Society of Marketing Advances 2010 Conference, held November 3-6 in Atlanta.

Professor John Burbridge delivered a presentation at the Florida State University College of Law on Friday, Oct. 29. The topic was "The Economics of Professional Sports, Collective Bargaining Agreements, and Constraints on Player Pay."

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ senior Charley Costa and junior Stephen Azar won top honors last week in the 2010 Eller Ethics Case Competition, a prestigious national contest hosted by the University of Arizona and featuring many of the top-ranked undergraduate business schools in North America. It is the second time in as many years that ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ students took first place in the competition.

In what has become a Homecoming tradition for successful young alumni, graduates of the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business and the School of Communications shared career tips and life advice Friday in "wisdom sessions" for current students as part of Homecoming 2010. Alumni from the School of Education held a similar program Saturday morning prior to the official start of football festivities around campus.

Gary L. Clinton, former Citigroup Head of Global Relationship Banking in Asia, will give a talk on economic and currency issues associated with China on Monday, October 25, 10:50 am in LaRose Digital Theatre. His talk is open to all LSB students.

Imploring students to follow “their heart’s desire” when deciding how to best advance their communities and country in the years ahead, venture capitalist and former NASA astronaut Dr. Bernard A. Harris Jr. shared stories from his career Wednesday in a ceremony to honor him as the second recipient of the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Medal for Entrepreneurial Leadership.

Love School of Business students Gregory "Carl" Hairston and Tyler Reynolds have been named as finalists for the World Collegiate Sales Competition, to be held November 11-13 at Northern Illinois University. Only 16 students nationwide were selected as finalists. Students Priscilla Abad and Lindsay Richardson were named semifinalists for the upcoming competition.

Venture capitalist and former NASA astronaut Dr. Bernard A. Harris Jr. will address students, faculty and students in an Oct. 20, 2010, ceremony to honor him with the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Medal for Entrepreneurial Leadership. Sponsored by the Doherty Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership and the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business, the program in Whitley Auditorium is free and open to the public.
