Bloomberg Businessweek ranks ���ϲ�����'s Martha and Spencer Love School of Business among the nation's top undergraduate business programs in its 2011 rankings, which were released March 3. ���ϲ����� ranks #26 in academic quality and receives an "A" grade for facilities and services.

Paul Miller, professor of exercise science and director of Undergraduate Research; Eric Hall, associate professor of exercise science; Mat Gendle, associate professor of psychology; and Steve DeLoach, professor of economics; attended the annual business meetings of the Council of Undergraduate Research in St. Louis, MO, June 14-18.

Haya Ajjan, an assistant professor of management information systems, and Gary Palin, executive director of the Doherty Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership and senior lecturer of entrepreneurship in the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business, presented a June 17 workshop in the 2011 International Council for Small Business World Conference in Stockholm, Sweden.

Michelle Ferrier, an associate professor in the School of Communications, and Gary Palin, executive director of the Doherty Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership and senior lecturer of entrepreneurship in the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business, conducted a workshop on journalism entrepreneurship and experiments in diversity at the International Council for Small Business in Stockholm, Sweden on June 16. The workshop, “Emerging Journalism Innovations and the Role of the Academy,” examines media entrepreneurship and curricular and process-driven solutions.

A team of four ���ϲ����� business school students won first place this month in a national case competition that measured the ability to interpret, analyze, evaluate, synthesize, and communicate a solution to a management accounting problem.

William J. Burpitt has been named associate dean for graduate and executive programs for the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business at ���ϲ�����.

Innovators from across the country gathered June 2-5 at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro for a four-day journalism event hosted by Journalism That Matters and supported by ���ϲ�����’s School of Communications, the Doherty Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership at ���ϲ����� and UNC-Greensboro.

Martin “Marty” Blevins was presented with the Richard H. Behrman Award on May 19 at a dinner to celebrate ���ϲ�����’s 25th graduating MBA class.

���ϲ����� senior economics major Kaylyn Swankoski was awarded the 2011 Allen Starling Johnson Jr. Outstanding Symposium Presentation Prize for the April 29 presentation of her senior thesis at the Duke Economics Department 9th Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium.

Mary Gowan, dean of the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business, was a presenter at the 2011 Joint Triad HR Leadership, Diversity, and Inclusion Conference held at the Koury Convention Center in Greensboro, North Carolina, on Tuesday, May 17. The conference theme was "What's Next? HR & the New Frontier."
