Members of the Class of 2010 aren't the only people leaving ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ's campus this month. Several faculty and staff will be leaving ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ for the next chapter of their lives, too. Celebrate the legacies of Jane Romer, George Troxler, Anne Cassebaum, Jim Pace, Jerry Tolley, Frank Harris '65 and Lamar Bland in the following profiles and videos.

A renowned scholar in the field of religious studies, a respected ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ colleague and an influential teacher of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ students for more than two decades, Jeffrey Pugh, Maude Sharpe Powell Professor of Religious Studies, has been named the 2010 Distinguished University Scholar.

April Post, a 2001 ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ graduate, returned to North Carolina in 2004 and immediately made an impact in her classes, her church and for local Hispanic students and their families. In recognition of her efforts, Post, lecturer in Spanish, has received the 2010 Periclean Award.

To those who know Eric Hall, associate professor of exercise science, it should come as no surprise that he has been named the 2010 Ward Family Excellence in Mentoring Award recipient. He lives to mentor students. Literally.

If you haven’t made your gift to the 2009-10 Faculty/Staff Campaign, don’t worry. There is still time to participate! All gifts received by May 31, 2010, count toward the Faculty/Staff Campaign as well as to Ever ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ: The Campaign for the Future of Our University, which seeks to build the university’s endowment, increase annual and planned giving, and build and preserve the campus. To date, donors to Ever ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ have contributed more than $77 million toward the $100 million comprehensive campaign goal.

Faculty and staff in ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ's School of Communications, School of Education, ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ College, the College of Arts and Sciences and the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business were honored over the past few weeks for excellence in teaching, scholarship and service.
