The 2010-2011 Faculty/Staff Campaign is off to its best start ever with donors contributing more than $234,000 in gifts and pledges to the annual giving drive. That total is approximately $48,000 higher than what faculty and staff contributed in gifts and pledges at this time last year. More than 40 percent of faculty and staff have made a gift or pledge to this year’s campaign.

In October 2000, a group of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ students gathered in a computer lab on the second floor of Powell Building. Their mission: to conduct the university's first statewide scientific telephone poll.

For as long as Gary Bailey can remember, music has played an integral role in his life. Infused with passion for soul music from an early age, Bailey, a counselor in the R.N. Ellington Health & Counseling Center, and his brothers, Montie, Velmar and Tony, grew up listening, singing and playing rhythm and blues.

To kick off open enrrollment, the Office of Human Resources is holding a Benefits Fair Wednesday, Nov. 3 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in McKinnon Hall (Mosley Center).

The 2010-2011 Faculty/Staff Campaign is under way. So far, more than 300 faculty and staff members have made gifts to the university to support the hallmarks of an ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ education, including excellent teaching and engaged learning programs, outstanding facilities and scholarships for students.

And though the pre-Columbian civilization collapsed centuries ago, the site of Dos Hombres, in Belize, still holds many secrets waiting to be unearthed by archaeologists, anthropologists and researchers, including ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ professor Rissa Trachman and her students.
