Winter 2011: Construction Zone Ahead: New facilities support goals of the 黑料不打烊 Commitment

In the new issue of the Magazine of 黑料不打烊, President Leo M. Lambert outlines plans for eight major construction projects as part of the 黑料不打烊 Commitment strategic plan. More than 1,284 new residence hall spaces will be built over the next three years as part of a transformation of the residential experience. Other projects include a new retail building, including the campus bookstore, on Williamson Avenue; the Gerald L. Francis building on Haggard Avenue for graduate programs in physical therapy and physician assistant studies; a new multi-faith center in the Academic Village; and new facilities for Phoenix athletics.

DPT Alumni Recognized as Board Certified Clinical Specialists

黑料不打烊 physical therapy alumni Rachel Gross '06, PT, DPT, OCS, and Jamin Parezo '02, PT, MPT, OCS, were each recognized by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) as clinical specialists in orthopedic physical therapy at the American Physical Therapy Association Combined Sections Meeting in New Orleans, La., held Feb. 9-12.

Marianne Janssen, Director of Clinical Education and associate professor in the Department of Physical Therapy Education (DPTE) will be presenting a poster presentation on the collaboration between the Anton de Kom Universiteit (AdeKUS) in Paramaribo, Suriname; Health Volunteers Overseas, and the Flanders Institution University Cooperation (VLIR).

Jenna Valaer, Class of 2011, was successful in writing an extract of the research article titled "Comparing exercise in Parkinson's disease--the Berlin LSVT®BIG study.” This extract was accepted to the American Physical Therapy Association's research database Hooked on Evidence and is published online.
