ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ student-athletes visited Garrett Elementary to read to students as part of the One Book, One School project.

This past December, ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s student athletes teamed up to provide gifts for nine Alamance County children with the local nonprofit organization Christmas Cheer. 

Joe West, a quarterback for ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ's football teams in the early 1970s, is now a Major League Baseball umpire. 

The award-winning film is part of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ's Black History Month programming and sponsored by ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Athletics, ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈdocs, African and African American Studies and CREDE. Turner Theatre, Schar Hall, 7 p.m.

The annual event in Alumni Gym will generate funding for student-athlete scholarships. 

The "Opening Doors" story series celebrates the power of scholarships to change the lives of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ students and the generosity of donors who make this transformation possible.

The recognitions come as ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ prepares for a first-round contest against Furman University in the university's second-ever NCAA Division I Football Championship appearance. 

The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Phoenix will host top-ranked James Madison University at Rhodes Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 18, at noon, with selections for the NCAA FCS playoffs to take place on Sunday. Want to attend a playoff game? Find more information here. 

The 5,100-seat, 160,000-square-foot facility will provide a premier gathering space for major campus events and serve as the new home for ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ's basketball and volleyball programs when it opens next year.
