ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Academy Kappa Scholar Jenny Te Vazquez has made history by becoming the first of the program's students to be awarded the prestigious Morehead-Cain Scholarship at UNC-Chapel Hill.

The March 24 article in The Times-News of Burlington told the story of Sarah Rawls, a member of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Academy's first cohort who will begin pursuing her doctorate at Temple University this year. 

The NC Emerge 1G Summit was hosted and led by ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ's Examining Disparities in Educational Access Living Learning Community and drew attendees from students around the state.

The new scholarship gifts and commitments announced by President Leo M. Lambert and a group of key university volunteers on Friday come from seven inspired donors.

Monday's gathering on Scott Plaza in front of the Alamance Building offered an opportunity to welcome new and returning members of the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Academy, the university's college access and success program for local high school students.  

Members of the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Academy's Iota Class were joined by friends, family and supporters on May 16 for a celebration of their success. 

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Academy Assistant Director John Pickett presented information about the academic and non-cognitive skills necessary in the college-planning process to enhance college access and success efforts.  

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Academy Assistant Director Jenni Johnson participated on a panel discussing how to support undocumented students in higher education.  

The memorial service in the Sacred Space of the Numen Lumen Pavilion offered the opportunity to celebrate the life of Noiles, an alumna and long-time supporter of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ. 

Noiles, who passed away in February, and her late husband, Doug, were generous supporters of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ and offered significant backing for the Truitt Center for Religious and Spiritual Life and the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Academy.
