I am faced with a scene that would make Ray Bradbury shudder: a tiny room jammed with flat-screen monitors playing to a dozen people behind computers wearing futuristic glasses, shouting things like “Go for gold” and “the Flag is down.” But this is not a scene from a foreboding science fiction novel. Paul Parsons, dean of the School of Communications, formally received the national Administrator of the Year award at the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication conference on Aug. 10 in St. Louis.

On Aug. 1 the School of Communications welcomed 40 students to the master’s program in Interactive Media. The enrolling students compose the largest class in the program’s three-year history.
