The lecturer in the School of Communications is one of five award recipients recognized with the National Scholastic Press Association’s highest accolade for journalism educators.

Presented on campus as part of Supporting Survivors Week, the 2017 documentary features Recy Taylor, a 24-year-old black mother and sharecropper living in Alabama, who was abducted and raped by six white boys in 1944.

Kathleen Stansberry, assistant professor of communications, was a guest on the statewide news program from Spectrum News for a discussion about political censorship on social media.
