David L. Morrow II ’07 L’10, special adviser to the president and assistant chief of staff at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ, recently joined the American Bar Association’s Advisory Commission for the Division for Public Education.

The Hon. Robert N. Hunter Jr., a Greensboro native highly respected by attorneys across North Carolina for his service to the state, received ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law's 2017 Leadership in the Law Award.

F. Leary Davis, Jr. led efforts from 2004-2008 to launch ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ School of Law in downtown Greensboro and earn it provisional accreditation from the American Bar Association at the earliest possible date.

Damon Duncan ’06 L’09, who graduated from ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ with a degree in communications before attending law school, becomes the first ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law alumnus to serve in such a leadership capacity for the North Carolina Bar Association.

To honor a local attorney's unwavering support of her legal studies, student Wendy Smith made a gift to ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law that was celebrated June 7 with the unveiling of a plaque recognizing G. Steve Crihfield for his commitment to encouraging students who are pursuing a career in law.

Students in the Class of 2018 who excelled during their first year at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law were recognized June 1 at a Starmount Country Club dinner featuring remarks from alumna Chelsea Anderson '10 L'13.

Bestowed at Commencement, the David Gergen Award for Leadership & Professionalism recognizes graduating students in each class who embody the highest levels of selfless leadership and service.

Students in the Class of May 2017 received their degrees in an Alumni Gym ceremony highlighted by remarks from Robert J. Grey Jr., a former president of the American Bar Association who implored the group to "guard against injustice." 

On the eve of Commencement, students in the Class of May 2017 and their families gathered in the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law library to recognize outstanding academic performance, pro bono work, and service to the law school.
