The Hon. Carrie Vickery L'09 and Adam Arthur L'10 are being honored by the Triad Business Journal for their professional achievements, leadership and community involvement in the Piedmont Triad region of North Carolina.

Members of the Black Law Students Association and their families commemorated the achievements of graduating students who recognize their African roots in a cultural ceremony the day before Commencement for ���ϲ����� Law’s Class of December 2017.

Students in the Class of December 2017 and their families celebrated outstanding academic performance, pro bono work, and service to the law school in a ceremony on the eve of their graduation from ���ϲ����� Law's highly experiential 2.5-year program.

When Joleen Parks graduates on Saturday in the first class to complete ���ϲ����� Law's new 2.5-year program, it will be her next chapter in a life radically changed five years ago in the skies over North Carolina.

In its 2018 edition of "The Best 169 Law Schools,” the influential college guide also listed ���ϲ����� Law among the top 10 schools in terms of the number of hours that students report studying outside of class and the level of ambition among students at the school.

The annual event at ���ϲ����� School of Law in downtown Greensboro welcomed national leaders in alternative dispute resolution and featured keynote remarks on fostering the physical and emotional safety of clients.

In remarks at a Saturday evening banquet, the Hon. Barbara Jackson encouraged participants of ���ϲ����� Law’s Eighth Billings, Exum & Frye National Moot Court Competition to find mentors and to understand the importance of lifelong learning.

The Paul D. Coverdell Fellows Program will provide financial aid and public interest residency-in-practice placements to as many as two returning Peace Corps volunteers who enroll at ���ϲ����� Law each year beginning in 2018.

The ���ϲ����� Law Review hosts a program on Oct. 27, 2017, that will provide an update on recent case law and advisory opinions in mediation and arbitration.

Supported by a gift from the Class of May 2017, the networking event in Cemala Commons allowed ���ϲ����� Law students to learn more about the types of careers enjoyed by law school alumni.
