In conjunction with the Student Professional Development Center, the School of Communications hosted the Communications and Sport Management Meet and Greet on March 28, attracting more than 200 students and 20 employers representing a variety of communications-related industries.

Poets&Quants, a business education news source, featured Ava Rosen ‘23 and Savannah Josey ‘23 in its annual showcase of outstanding students from the Class of 2023 who attend a top school for undergraduate business education.

The School of Communications hosted its first-ever trivia contest for members of the Communications Fellows program, testing the students’ knowledge of the Tar Heel state, pop culture and other fun facts.

Ashleigh Afromsky ’22 joined Assistant Professor Jenny Jiang and Professor Qian Xu to examine the job descriptions of nearly 35,000 positions related to media analytics following the COVID-19 pandemic. Their findings were recently published in the March edition of Journalism & Mass Communication Educator.

During the 2023 spring break, 13 ���ϲ����� student volunteers traveled to Puerto Rico to assist in hurricane relief.

Altmann’s research project involved collecting and testing 2.5 pounds of cigarette butts and devising a cigarette smoking apparatus to find out which metals are being released by littered butts.

The annual event raises money for AFSP to spread education and awareness around suicide and suicide prevention.

The fourth annual event, held at ���ϲ�����’s School of Communications, will explore the theme of “Sport Sponsorship and Branding in the Digital Age,” and features two panel discussions delving into technology and social media use, as well as how college athletes are leveraging their name, image, and likeness (NIL) rights.
