The associate professor of communications analyzed how U.S. President Donald Trump and Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto communicated during the first 100 days of Trump’s term regarding the community of Mexican immigrants living in the United States.

Meeting highlights included ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s Beta Alpha Psi president winning the Project Run With It competition and Professor Susan Anderson receiving the Business Information Professional of the Year Award.

Faculty members were recognized on Aug. 20 for excellence in mentoring, service and leadership, teaching and scholarship. 

A grant from the Alamance Community Foundation has been awarded to the Department of Human Service Studies to support the work of senior course.

Allegra Laing, assistant director of diversity and inclusion in study abroad, was nominated unanimously as chair for NAFSA Region VII for 2020.

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ President Connie Ledoux Book presented the medallion to two retired faculty members and two steadfast supporters of the university during an event marking the start of a new academic year. The university also recognized four named professorships during the event. 

Awtrey, an associate professor of mathematics at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ, received the Henry L. Alder Award from the Mathematics Association of America at its national MathFest conference.
