Thirty-five ���ϲ����� student-athletes received academic all-conference recognition by the Southern Conference during the fall season. ���ϲ����� ranked #2 among the 12 SoCon schools in the number of athletes earning recognition. To be eligible, a student-athlete must possess at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average entering the fall season and must have competed in at least one-half of their team’s competitions during the recently-concluded fall campaign.

USA Baseball has announced that the 2009 USA Baseball National Team (Collegiate) coaching staff will include ���ϲ����� Phoenix skipper Mike Kennedy. Former ���ϲ����� head coach Rick Jones is the head coach for the 2009 squad.

The Phoenix soccer team beat Furman Oct. 28 to complete a 7-0-0 perfect Southern Conference season. This is ���ϲ�����'s first regular season men's soccer title in the conference. ���ϲ����� will enter the SoCon tournament Nov. 8 as the top seed, and will host the quarterfinal game on campus.

A spectacular touchdown catch by wide receiver Terrell Hudgins was featured as an ESPN "great grab" segment on the College Football Live program on Oct. 23.

Jerry Tolley, former head ���ϲ����� football coach and a current member of the University Advancement staff, has been named a member of the 2008-09 Hall of Fame class of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). The honor is the highest bestowed by the NAIA.
