Friday night's men's basketball game against the University of North Carolina marked the first home game for the team in the new 5,100-seat Schar Center. 

The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ women’s basketball team got a chance to train with the Marines and practice mental strength and collaboration

Halftime during Saturday's football game against the University of Richmond offered an opportunity for ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ student-athletes to honor ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ's newly inaugurated president and to announced the results of the Honor President Book Drive. 

During a donor appreciation event on the arena's main floor on Friday, ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ celebrated the generosity and vision of the nearly 30 families, individuals and businesses whose gifts made the convocation center possible. 

The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ football team topped James Madison 27-24 during the contest played on JMU's home field in Harrisonburg, Virginia. 

The School of Communications program, which partners with ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Athletics to broadcast university sporting events, streamed ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s football game against New Hampshire during Family Weekend.

The contest, originally to be held at William & Mary on Saturday, Sept. 15, was canceled due to Hurricane Florence.

Other events slated for this week will take place as campus operations and classes resume.

The renovations were made possible by the generosity of donors and create ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ's first synthetic multisport field.
