Alumni, students, families, faculty, staff and friends gave more than $2.5 million in gifts, showed their pride on social media, and attended events around the world in honor of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Day.

The honor recognizes 40 outstanding African American business and community leaders in North Carolina’s Piedmont Triad.

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ BFA Acting Alumna Becca Hurd '16 is bringing her internationally-acclaimed one-woman show, "The Other Side 25" to campus for a special performance in Roberts Studio Theatre on March 6 at 5:30 p.m. She will also conduct workshops with current BFAA Acting majors during her three-day residency.

Twenty-one students attended the 2020 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, interacting with ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ alumni working – and gaining recognition – in the film and entertainment industries.

Mustakeem, who was the first African and African-American Studies graduate at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ and now serves as an associate professor of history and African and African-American studies at Washington University in St. Louis, will deliver an address during a March 9 luncheon in McKinnon Hall.
