The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ community gathered Oct. 19 to commemorate and reflect on the inauguration of Connie Ledoux Book as ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s ninth president.

Alumni, representing every decade of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ graduates dating back to the 1930s, participated in the inauguration ceremony held for President Connie Ledoux Book.

The focal point during a celebration lasting through Oct. 20, Thursday's inauguration ceremony in Schar Center drew thousands to mark this significant milestone in the university’s 129-year history.

Visiting alumni and higher education delegates spent Thursday morning exploring the campus and learning about ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s history before celebrating the inauguration of President Connie Ledoux Book.

The gifts from Don Chaplin and Andy Hunt, of Burlington, North Carolina, were inspired by ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s commitment to building an inclusive and welcoming campus community.

The campus community gathered Tuesday for a special College Coffee on Phi Beta Kappa Plaza and to support a fundraiser for ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ programs. For each gift made in honor of President Book's inauguration, a book will be donated to Alamance-Burlington public schools. 

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ alumnae Alexis de Groot ’17 and Sydney Brown ’18 partnered with faculty members Tony Weaver and Eric Hall to conduct a qualitative study and collect in-depth information on the perception of social support provided to student-athletes rehabilitating injuries.
