On Thursday, October 8, from 4 to 5 p.m., ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ School of Law will host an afternoon tea reception in the Cemala Commons, on the second floor of the law school, welcoming preceptors and other special guests from the legal community to socialize with ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law students, faculty, and administration. During the academic year, ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law hosts a number of afternoon tea receptions, creating an opportunity for students to network with local judges and attorneys while enjoying refreshments.

The Student Bar Association at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ School of Law, in conjunction with the law school, is pleased to host the second annual Family and Friends Day at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law, Saturday, September 26.

In partnership with synerG, the young professionals initiative of Action Greensboro, ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ School of Law is hosting a series of educational events to engage the young professional community with Greensboro City Government. As part of this series, the forum, "Local Government 101: Economic Development," will be held in Room 211 at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law on Wednesday, October 21, from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m.

On September 11, British Member of Parliament Alistair Burt spoke with students at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ School of Law about current U.S., U.K. relations and the future of international law and policy.

On September 11, British Member of Parliament Alistair Burt will visit ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ School of Law, delivering a presentation titled, "Current UK - USA Legal and Political Relations during the rise of Globalization."

Members of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law's Classes of 2010 and 2011 contributed to the legal profession as summer associates, interns, and advocates for low-income individuals in need of legal assistance throughout the summer of 2009.

On Saturday, August 22, over 100 first and second-year law students volunteered their time through the third annual "ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law Reaches Out" community service day, supporting the work of numerous nonprofits across the region.

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law professor Sonya Garza recently spoke with News 14 Carolina and published a column in the Greensboro News and Record about the historic nature of Judge Sonya Sotomayor's appointment to the Supreme Court, the latest in a series of media appearances by ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law faculty about Sotomayor's nomination.

The faculty and administration of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ School of Law, together with special guests from the City of Greensboro, the North Carolina State Bar and the North Carolina Bar Association, welcomed an entering class of talented and diverse students on August 17 for orientation, one week prior to the law school's first day of classes.
