Essays selected from two conferences were edited, expanded and combined into a single volume. Together, they offer a broad overview of how relational culture defines how, why, and for whom bishops work.

Evan A. Gatti published a book chapter, co-authored with Eliza Garrison, that examines the transhistorical contexts for the reliquary casket of St. Servatius.

Gatti publishes article on the significance of three portraits depicting the German Bishop Sigebert of Minden (1022-1036) in Gesta: The Journal for the International Center for Medieval Art.

Evan A. Gatti, associate professor of art history, presented “Legacies of Privilege: Making Meaning for Medieval Manuscripts” at the 46th annual Sewanee Medieval Colloquium.

Evan A. Gatti, associate professor of art history, presented “The Vercelli Rotolus: Images of the Acts of the Apostles the Arts of Imitation” at the conference, which was organized by the Center for Iconographic Studies and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Rijeka, the Société des Bollandistes (Bruxelles), and Hagiotheca: Croatian Hagiography Society (Zagreb).

Associate Professor of Art History Evan Gatti presented "Things They Carry Re-Presented: Episcopal Simulacra or Decorative Ephemera,” presided over two sessions on Gender, Identity, & the Medieval Bishop & the Secular Clergy, and moderated the Brevia on Bishops & the Secular Clergy in the Middle Ages at the International Medieval Congress in Leeds, England.

Associate Professor of Art History Evan A. Gatti co-organized a 2-day conference held at Sarum College on the role of the medieval bishop as patron. 

Evan A. Gatti, associate professor of art history and associate director of the ���ϲ����� Core Curriculum, presented "Drawn in Ink With Love: Desire in Looking at and Looking Back” and "Re-Presentation and a Theology of Images" at the International Medieval Studies Congress in Kalamazoo, Michigan. 

The session was one of three co-organized by Evan A. Gatti, associate professor of art history, for Episcopus, an interdisciplinary, scholarly society.

Kirstin Ringelberg, professor of art history, contributed an essay to volume 40 (July 2017) of n.paradoxa: international feminist art journal.
