Bloomberg Businessweek ranks ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ's Martha and Spencer Love School of Business among the nation's top undergraduate business programs in its 2011 rankings, which were released March 3. ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ ranks #26 in academic quality and receives an "A" grade for facilities and services.

UNC-TV, North Carolina's statewide public television network, will broadcast "We Can Be Better: Courageous Voices Confront Our Greatest Challenges," at 10 p.m., Thursday, June 23. The program is an edited version of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ's April 7 Convocation for Honors moderated by NBC Nightly News Anchor Brian Williams.

The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Board of Trustees has elected spring 2011 graduate Greg Mader to a two-year term as youth trustee on the board. Mader is a Durham, N.C., native who received a bachelor of science degree in mathematics.

David Edmond Wesley Schlosser of Greensboro, N.C., who graduated from ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ on May 21 with a bachelor's degree in computer science, died unexpectedly on June 2. A funeral liturgy will be held Monday, June 6, at 11 a.m., at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 2210 North Elm Street, Greensboro.

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ trustee Dr. Bryan Latham and his wife Janet are among 12 recipients of the Southern Conference's 2011 Distinguished Service Award. Each of the SoCon member institutions select honorees for their contributions to the advancement of the schools and their athletics programs. The Lathams will be honored at a dinner in Charleston, S.C. on June 1.

The 2011 Bloomberg Businessweek rankings of top undergraduate business schools by specialty rates ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ #19 in the nation for entrepreneurship and #22 for sustainability.

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Director of Athletics Dave Blank has been appointed to the NCAA Division I Leadership Council. Blank will complete his current term on the NCAA Championships/Sports Management Cabinet prior to beginning a four-year term with the leadership committee in September. He will represent the Southern Conference on the 31-member council, which is made up of one ambassador from each Division I conference.

The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Phoenix secured a share of its fourth Southern Conference regular-season title, and third in four years, by rallying for four runs in the bottom of the eight for an 8-7 win over the visiting Furman Paladins on May 19. The win was the 11th for ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ in its final at bat this season.

Six ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ athletics teams rank among the nation’s top 10 percent in their sports in the annual NCAA Academic Progress Rate (APR) report. The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Phoenix men’s basketball, women’s cross country, women’s golf, women’s indoor and outdoor track and volleyball teams are among the NCAA Division I teams receiving public recognition awards for their APR scores, the NCAA announced May 17.
