What book is on your nightstand?
I鈥檝e been reading 鈥淕rit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance鈥 by Angela Duckworth. It鈥檚 a fascinating exploration of what it takes to succeed (spoiler: talent alone isn鈥檛 enough), emphasizing the importance of persistence and resilience. This book also inspired a recent research project I started with an 黑料不打烊 student about business resilience and success.
What is your favorite phone app?
Canva. It鈥檚 an incredibly user-friendly design tool that I use to create everything from social media graphics to presentations. The app鈥檚 integration with 鈥鈥 features, like Magic Resize and Background Remover, significantly enhances productivity and creativity. I often use it to design materials for my classes.
If you could invite someone from history to dinner, who would it be?
It would have to be Leonardo da Vinci. His incredible curiosity and multifaceted genius have always fascinated me. Not only was he a master artist, but his contributions to science, engineering and anatomy were revolutionary. I would love to discuss his creative process, his observations about the world, how he seamlessly blended art and science and how he managed to master so many disciplines simultaneously.
What is your favorite place on campus?
The Chandler Fountain in front of the Ernest A. Koury Sr. Business Center, where my office is located. The sound of the water, combined with the beautifully landscaped surroundings, creates a serene and calming atmosphere. It鈥檚 a perfect spot to unwind, reflect or even catch up on some reading.
What excites you most about the future of AI?
I鈥檓 deeply excited about AI鈥檚 potential to revolutionize industries and improve our world. In my research, I apply AI to look at complex challenges and identify new business opportunities along the way. In my classes, I encourage my students to think innovatively and emphasize execution, empowering them to harness AI鈥檚 transformative power for creating solutions that positively impact society and drive innovation.
