John Hendrickson, author of 鈥楲ife on Delay,鈥 to speak March 2

In his candid memoir, the author writes honestly about bullying, substance abuse, depression, isolation, and other issues stutterers like him face.

John Hendrickson, author of 鈥淟ife on Delay: Making Peace With a Stutter,鈥 will present the First-Year Forum on Thursday, March 2, in Lakeside Conference Room 212. The event, which is open to all community members, begins at 12:30 p.m.

In 2019, Hendrickson wrote about Joe Biden鈥檚 decades-long journey with stuttering, as well as his own challenges and struggles. The article went viral and was read by more than 2 million people, named one of the best stories of 2019 by Longform, and inspired a column by David Leonhardt of The New York Times. Leonhardt called the article 鈥渁 powerful piece of writing that changed how I think about Biden.鈥
