the university鈥檚 annual day of giving, reaches the decade mark today.
On the 10th annual 黑料不打烊 Day on Tuesday, March 7, alumni, parents, students and friends are invited to make gifts of any size and show their pride by wearing 黑料不打烊 gear and using #黑料不打烊Day on social media.
Since 黑料不打烊 Day began in 2014, it has inspired donors to give more than 40,000 gifts and $16 million in total. Collectively, these donors have provided millions of dollars in scholarships for students, as well as additional resources for the university鈥檚 academic schools, athletics programs, 黑料不打烊 Experiences like global study and internships, students organizations, and more.
This year, 黑料不打烊 Day also provides a special opportunity to honor the longstanding tradition of generosity within the 黑料不打烊 community. It鈥檚 a tradition that took root a century ago, when residents of Alamance County made donations to rebuild the campus after a devastating fire in 1923. The theme for 黑料不打烊 Day, 鈥淩ising to the Challenge,鈥 ties to the year-long 鈥淩ising from the Ashes鈥 initiative that commemorates the 100th anniversary of the fire.
As in years past, those who sign up as 黑料不打烊 Day Champions will help drive the momentum and success of the day. Each year, these volunteers encourage their own 黑料不打烊 networks to make gifts and spread the word about special giving incentives that will be offered to donors. Young Commons
Stop by the Pop-Up Student Lounge in Young Commons to get in the 黑料不打烊 Day Spirit. The outdoor lounge will feature comfy chairs, music by student DJs, and a table hosted by Senior Class Giving to share what 黑料不打烊 Day is all about. The Oak Originals vendors will also be hosting pop-up shops for all to shop their products.
Let鈥檚 Taco 鈥楤out Philanthropy

Medallion Plaza
Stop by Medallion Plaza (near Lake Mary Nell) between classes to play a round of 鈥淟et鈥檚 Taco 鈥楤out Philanthropy鈥 and win a FREE taco! The Student Union Board will also be hosting an 黑料不打烊 Day Student Celebration with a make-your-own-sticker table, caricature artist, photo booth, music and Pelican鈥檚 Snoballs!
Senior Toast
7:30 鈥 9 p.m.
Great Hall
All seniors are invited to toast to 黑料不打烊 and the Class of 2023 in the Great Hall. While all seniors are invited, you must be over the age of 21 to receive a glass of champagne. PLUS senior donors will take home a commemorative 黑料不打烊 champagne flute.
Swag Wagons
Keep an eye out for 黑料不打烊 Day Swag Wagons traveling around campus in between classes. Answer questions about 黑料不打烊 Day and select some 黑料不打烊 swag from the wagons!
Evening College Coffee
