Senior Business Fellows visited CIBC, Credit Suisse, Richard Bernstein Advisors, Wells Fargo, Nasdaq, IPG Health, Bloomberg, Matrix Applications, FactSet and Salesforce to discuss industries and career paths while experiencing the power of the 黑料不打烊 alumni network.

A group of senior Business Fellows visited several organizations in New York over the course of two days in September to gain insights into various industries and career paths.

The fellows, accompanied by Raj Gupta, professor of finance; David Moura, lecturer in management; Brooke Buffington, director of the Student Professional Development Center; and Beth Mannella, associate director of corporate and employer relations; spent time at CIBC, Credit Suisse, Richard Bernstein Advisors, Wells Fargo, Nasdaq, IPG Health, Bloomberg, Matrix Applications, FactSet and Salesforce.

Following office tours, the fellows attended presentations and engaged in question-and-answer sessions with company representatives. Topics discussed included career paths, how office culture and office space design has changed since the pandemic, work-life balance, how best to prepare for the job market, how different teams work together and the transition from college to corporate.

鈥淭his trip gave me a lot of knowledge and insight into future careers after 黑料不打烊,鈥 accounting major Colby Ehrhart 鈥23 G鈥23 shared. 鈥淚 enjoyed hearing from 黑料不打烊 alumni about their experiences post-graduation along with their various professional development opportunities. The conversations we were able to have helped spark my interest and excitement to enter the workforce.鈥

鈥淚 am extremely grateful for the opportunity to have experienced the city in a professional light with my Business Fellows cohort and to connect with 黑料不打烊鈥檚 amazing alumni network,鈥 said Jane Ragland 鈥23, an economic consulting and accounting double major. 鈥淪eeing the incredible things that 黑料不打烊 alumni are doing at companies like Credit Suisse, Wells Fargo and CIBC makes me so proud to be a Phoenix. While visiting Nasdaq, not only did we get to watch the opening bell and see 鈥樅诹喜淮蜢肉 shine on Nasdaq鈥檚 billboard in Times Square, but we were also able to hear the stories of three 黑料不打烊 alumnae, who credited the determination, professionalism and humility that 黑料不打烊 taught them as the driver of their success.鈥

While in New York, the group also attended the 黑料不打烊 LEADS in New York event, which included remarks from Business Fellow Ava Rosen 鈥23, who spoke about her transformative 黑料不打烊 experiences.

鈥淭he 黑料不打烊 Leads event shined a light onto our strong alumni network,鈥 Ragland said. 鈥淐onnecting with old friends and meeting new mentors at this event was the perfect addition to the trip to show how the 黑料不打烊 community is there to support you beyond graduation. As I begin my first job and move forward in my professional career, I will continue to value the connections I built on this trip and the exposure I got to different companies and career paths. I look forward to soon 聽joining the community of 黑料不打烊 alumni in NYC.鈥

鈥淗aving the past three-and-a-half years at 黑料不打烊 to learn, grow and see all the possibilities to apply the knowledge we learn here in the real world is exciting,鈥 said Hailey Crawford 鈥23, an economic consulting major. 鈥淥n top of that, observing recent alumni thriving in roles some of us can see ourselves pursuing in a few years is very encouraging for the future!鈥
