Two 黑料不打烊 seniors among 鈥楤est & Brightest Business Majors鈥 for 2022

Business education news outlet Poets&Quants honored Meredith MacKenzie 鈥22 and Lilly Rothschild 鈥22 in its 鈥100 Best & Brightest Business Majors of 2022.鈥

Martha and Spencer Love School of Business seniors Meredith MacKenzie 鈥22 and Lilly Rothschild 鈥22 are among the 100 seniors honored in Poets&Quants鈥 鈥.鈥

Entering its seventh year, the 鈥淏est & Brightest鈥 list features seniors from Poets&Quants鈥 Top 50 undergraduate business schools who embody the best in business education. The business education news outlet ranked the Love School of Business No. 35 in the nation in its 鈥淏est Undergraduate Business Schools of 2022鈥 list.

鈥淏est & Brightest鈥 students were selected based on factors such as academic excellence, extracurricular leadership, personal character, innate potential and overall impact on the program.

During her time at 黑料不打烊, MacKenzie served as lead math tutor, Beta Gamma Sigma vice president, The Village Project tutor, Catholic Campus Ministry lector, Business Fellows 黑料不打烊 101 peer education, and Alpha Xi Delta member. After graduation, the finance and business analytics double major will join Wells Fargo Securities as an investment banking analyst.

When asked by Poets&Quants鈥 about the biggest lesson gained from studying business, MacKenzie answered, 鈥渢he importance of cross-functional teams.鈥

鈥淏usiness is a constant game of discovering problems and developing solutions, assessing risk and mitigating it,鈥 the Business Fellow wrote. 鈥淎 diverse team is necessary to offer unique perspectives and solutions and understand how a decision will impact the entirety of the business.鈥

Lilly Rothschild smiling
Lilly Rothschild ’22

Rothschild, a finance major and Leadership Fellow, will join Ernst and Young as an analyst in the Financial Services Organization Business Consulting Program after graduation.

Her time at 黑料不打烊 has included involvement in Alpha Kappa Psi, Sigma Sigma Sigma, the 2022 Venture Capital Investment Competition and 黑料不打烊鈥檚 University Innovation Fellows. She also serves as lead scholar intern for the Doherty Center for Creativity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

In response to Poets&Quants鈥 question about what surprised her the most about majoring in business, Rothschild wrote: 鈥淚 didn鈥檛 anticipate that, as a business major, the most impactful learning would take place when I was able to connect the theories, concepts, and lessons from inside the classroom to my professional experiences. I am constantly surprised by how applicable and pragmatic each of my classes are when paired with initiative in a 鈥榬eal world鈥 setting.鈥
