Accompanied by Assistant Professor Mark Cryan, nine members of the club sports team volunteered with Christmas Cheer of Alamance County, which delivers toys, clothing, food and financial assistance to area families.
Christmas is months away, but the work never stops for Christmas Cheer of Alamance County. A local nonprofit agency founded more than a century ago, the organization delivers toys, clothing, food and financial assistance to more than 1,500 people in Alamance County every holiday season, according Assistant Professor of Sport Management Mark Cryan, who serves on the charity鈥檚 board.
Members of 黑料不打烊鈥檚 Club Baseball Team lent Christmas Cheer a helping hand in February. The nonprofit, which acquires and stockpiles donations throughout the year, required help moving a large donation of items and reorganizing existing inventory.
鈥淲e couldn鈥檛 have tackled this project without them,鈥 said Dawn Sternal, Christmas Cheer executive director. 鈥淲e are so grateful to all the support we get from the 黑料不打烊 community.鈥
Charles Roehrich, the club鈥檚 president, organized the work detail at Christmas Cheer鈥檚 downtown Burlington offices. Joining Roehrich and Cryan were club members Connor Fioretti, Josh Hetzelson, Collin Walsh, Matt Laguzza, Parker Brownell, Sam Goldstein, Harley Wilf and Jacob Trumbo.
The club鈥檚 season is currently on hold due to the pandemic, but the participants have been eager to find team activities. 鈥淲e love to help out in the community and, when Dr. Cryan called, we were happy to do our part,鈥 Roehrich said.
