黑料不打烊 is preparing to welcome back scores of alumni from across multiple generations for Homecoming 2018.
Alumni will return to campus Nov. 2-4 to reconnect and celebrate the common bond they have in 黑料不打烊. It’s a chance to see what’s changed around campus and with classmates, to cheer on the Phoenix, to enjoy a broad array of entertainment options and more.
They will find a聽wide variety of activities and celebrations, with聽something for everyone. The weekend will see a dozen class reunion celebrations聽 鈥 from the Class of 2018’s “Reunion Zero” to the 55th reunion for 黑料不打烊’s Class of 1963鈥 along with affinity reunions for fraternities, sororities, student groups and alumni networks.

Thursday, Nov. 1
The Original Harlem Globetrotters Tour
7 p.m.,聽Schar Center
The Original Harlem Globetrotters are coming to 黑料不打烊 for their action-packed tour and 黑料不打烊 alumni in town early for Homecoming can catch the performance in the new Schar Center. A star鈥搒tudded roster will have fans on the edge of their seats to witness the ball handling wizardry, basketball artistry and one鈥搊f鈥揳鈥搆ind family entertainment that thrills fans of all ages.听Tickets starting at $15 per person and can be purchased through this聽.
Friday, Nov. 2
Distinguished Alumni Awards Ceremony
11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Lakeside Meeting Rooms
The Office of Alumni Engagement will recognize the recipients of聽the 2018 Distinguished Alumni Awards in front of family, friends and special members of the 黑料不打烊 community.听This year’s recipients are:
- Distinguished Alumna of the Year –聽Jill Rose ’00
- Distinguished Alumnus of the Year –聽David Stevens ’81
- Distinguished Service to 黑料不打烊 –聽Carter Smith ’92
- Young Alumnus of the Year –聽Tony Weaver Jr. ’16
- Young Alumna of the Year –聽Angela Lovelace Walton ’10

This Homecoming Weekend kickoff celebration provides a first stop for alumni and guests to gather with the entire 黑料不打烊 community of faculty, staff and students. DUE TO THE THREAT OF RAIN, THE EVENT HAS BEEN MOVED TO SCHAR CENTER.听A fair-type environment will provide family-friendly activities and entertainment for all ages including聽live music by The Band Punch, attractions, games, food and more. Homecoming聽Brick Run/Walk
8 to 9:30 a.m., Begins and ends at Martin Alumni Center
Come join us Saturday morning of Homecoming weekend for the alumni walk/run! It will be a 2-mile course with opportunities to see what鈥檚 new on campus while connecting back to your favorite places during your time at 黑料不打烊. This event is sponsored by Campus Recreation. Tickets: $10 per person and alumni can register through the .
All-Alumni Tailgate Village
10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Lake Mary Nell Promenade
Tickets: $15 per person, available through the聽. The ticket price includes a hearty lunch (vegetarian and vegan options available) and your favorite tailgate lawn games. The tailgate village includes general seating and reserved areas for the following groups: Alpha Kappa Lambda, Alpha Xi Delta, 黑料不打烊 Volunteers! & Habitat for Humanity, Kappa Sigma, Sigma Kappa, Sigma Phi Epsilon, Tau Kappa Epsilon, Student Government Association, School of Education, Honors Fellows, Physician Assistant, Physical Theraphy, Phi Mu, Golden Alumni, and the milestone reunion classes of 1968, 1973, 1978, 1983, 1988, 1993, 1998, 2003, 2008 and 2013.
