Evening for ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ events in Atlanta and Charlotte highlight regional outreach

For many alumni, parents and friends in attendance, the events were their first opportunity to interact with President Connie Ledoux Book, who took office in March.

Almost 150 ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ alumni, parents and friends gathered Wednesday, April 25, for an Evening for ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ in Atlanta, to celebrate the university that unites them both in spirit and action.

The event was hosted at the Fernbank Museum of Natural History, an educational and entertaining event space that allowed attendees to view some of the world’s largest dinosaurs. The main program was held in the Great Hall, which provided a captivating setting for President Connie Ledoux Book’s remarks.

Surrounded by fossils of the past, Book spoke of her vision of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s future, including the continued growth of the campus, increased resources for student scholarships and the importance of alumni participation.

“Each Evening for ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ event brings with it the same sense of community found on ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s campus,” said Brian Feeley ’03, director of alumni engagement. “Friends, classmates and colleagues are brought together not only to celebrate ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s accomplishments, but to learn about the exciting future of our university.”

The Atlanta event was preceded by the Charlotte Evening for ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ, which took place on April 18 at the NASCAR Hall of Fame, drawing almost 300 attendees. Both the Atlanta and Charlotte events offered opportunities for ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ alumni, parents and friends to engage with Book during her first tours of these key regions.

The final spring Evening for ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ event will take place on May 3 in Raleigh, N.C., at the Raleigh Convention Center Ballroom. Those wishing to attend can
