Gatti, associate director ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Core Curriculum and associate professor of art history, present papers at the 56th Annual Conference of the Association for General and Liberal Studies (AGLS) in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Jeffrey S. Coker, director of the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Core Curriculum and associate professor of Biology and Evan A. Gatti, associate director ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Core Curriculum and associate professor of art history, presented papers at the 56th Annual Conference of the Association for General and Liberal Studies (AGLS) in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The theme of the conference, “Inclusion and Integration in General and Liberal Education: Reimagining Campus Communities,” was designed to consider questions such as “How do faculty, administrators, and institutions succeed (or fail) in inspiring achievement and a sense of belonging in all learners?”
Coker presented “Experiential Learning Outcomes in ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Core Curriculum,” which offered three research studies on the student outcomes that result from experiential learning activity during college, including a comparison of experiential learning depth and breadth. Lessons were offered that could inform curricular design on other campuses.
Gatti presented “Interdisciplinary Capstones for All Students: The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ model” describing the successes possible in a flexible model for interdisciplinary capstones that emphasizes faculty design and encourages student agency.
