The inaugural leadership of the new chapter consists of Matthew Groves L'11 as chapter chair and Karima Grady L'13 as chapter vice chair.


ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ School of Law alumni celebrated the launch of the school’s first ever alumni chapter at a May 11 reception at Matchbox in the Chinatown neighborhood of Washington, D.C.
Matthew Groves L’11 and Karima Grady L’13 will serve three-year terms as chapter chair and vice chair, respectively, endeavoring to connect and reconnect alumni from all regions of the D.C. metro area.
Groves is currently employed in Washington as counsel/national security advisor for the U.S. House of Representatives and Grady is currently employed in Maryland as a staff attorney with the Child in Need of Assistance (CINA) Division of the Maryland Legal Aid Bureau.
At the launch event, remarks were offered from ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law Dean Luke Bierman, ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law Assistant Dean for Development LaDaniel Gatling II, ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law Board of Advisors Member Ronny Lancaster and ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law Alumni Director Gwendolyn Lewis L’13.
“With the launch of our first alumni chapter, the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law Alumni Association, has achieved a great milestone,” Lewis said. “This chapter will serve as a model to other chapters and as the primary ambassadors for ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Law throughout the D.C. Metro area. Our alumni are partners, advocates and investors and this momentous occasion will be yet another method by which our alumni can unite with their alum mater and contribute to its ongoing success. ”
