The Carteret, N.C., News-Times profiled Mary B. Safrit '12 in early September, just before she began an 11-month service program called The World Race.
Through the program, Safrit will be part of a team that travels to 11 nations in 11 months, engaging in service projects to benefit needy communities. Stops along the way are expected to include Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, the Philippines, Australia, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda.
